Script:
Welcome to the Academic Resource Center! My name is Tammy Hotchkiss and I am the math tutor. If you would like assistance with math you will need to follow these simple steps:
First, choose any computer in the Academic Resource Center and sign in. Start by clicking the icon titled “Student Sign-In”. It’s located in the lower left hand corner of the monitor. After you click the icon, an online form will open. Complete the questions on that form. You will need information such as your name, your student ID, and the course which you need assistance.
Once you sign in, I will be able to assist you at the table. You will need your book, paper, and a pencil or pen. Highlighter markers are also handy. If you forgot your paper, pen or pencil, no worries, we have plenty extra for you to use located on the file cabinet.
If you are taking an online course and using My Math Lab, please remain at the computer and sign into your math lab. I will be able to assist you there. You will still need paper and pen or pencil so that you can take notes from the tutoring session as a resource to use when you are at home.
Next, we will discuss what assignment you are currently working on and identify the problem areas in which you need assistance. We will begin by reviewing your most recent assignment, especially those in which you are struggling. Once we identify where you are having difficulty, I will show you an example problem similar to your problem and help you find additional resources such as online tutorials that can assist you later when you are not here.
I do want to clarify on thing before we begin, I can neither assist you with your exact homework assignment nor “take-home” exams, should you need assistance with those you must meet with your professor.
Once you complete the tutoring session, we ask that you please complete our survey located on the computer. The icon for the survey is located just below the sign-in icon you used earlier. It is titled “Comment Form”. This will help us identify problem areas you experienced in the Academic Resource Center, so that we can better serve you the next time you come in for our services. It is also great for compliments as well.
As you depart, please feel free take one of our forms on the table. It provides you with detailed information on our hours and other services we offer.
Thanks for visiting the Academic Resource Center, hope to see you soon!

Podcast Audience:
Students who enter the Academic Resource Center are able to use the podcast for basic instruction on how to sign in to the computer for math tutoring, reasons for completing a comment form, and where to obtain helpful information when leaving the tutoring lab.

Tools Used to Create and Present this Podcast:
Quicktime:I created the sound file: podcast7468_THotchkiss.m4a
Jamendo:I purchased the sound file with basic licensing for educational purposes for $4.99 (See licensing certificate.)
iMovie:I imported the sound file with voice over and combined it with the music file. I clipped the music file size and adjusted the fade of the music for a smooth transition to the sound file with voice over.
Dreamweaver: I uploaded the exported mp3 file to my personal website in the assets folder using the advanced settings. I then used remote access into the ftp server through Blue Host hosting service and uploaded the files.
Blogger:I typed the following html code linking back to the personal website assets folder:
<audio controls="">

Brief Reflection:

This assignment was surprisingly difficult. Embedding sound files appears to have more complexity than that of embedding video files. This was my first podcast.
